Hi,
I'm so glad to have found this forum.
I have been a fan of pua for a while now. I love signing into youtube and checking my subscriptions for a new video, I miss Eldorado lol ! even though he was a little naughty. I've been trying to do my research about tamanduas ever since I first discovered Pua, but info is limited to a few sources, trailblazers such as tamanduagirl have of course been a huge help!

I figured if I had any hopes of one day being owned by a tamandua, this would be the place for me.

I'm currently owned by
2 dogs
2 cats
3 ferrets
1 hedgehog

and maybe somewhere down the line 1 tamandua Very Happy

Welcome. Glad to see a new face.

Eldorado was cool. I just don't really have the space to set up too keep two separate pairs of anteaters. Hope to someday though.

Pua and Mandua haven't hooked up yet but at least they aren't trying to kill each other. All the Guyana(bold ones) at the place Eldorado is have proven to hate vesteds too, so it wasn't just Pua.

Do you find vested have a more "rowdy" personality or do you think its just depends on the animal?

p.s mandua is adorable I love your latest video of you playing with him.

Yeah the vesteds are more aggressive and harder to tame down at least the Paraguayan ones that are available. The vested from Brazil might have been better but it's been so long I only know one person with one and he was captive born and bred. They are still loads better than say taking an adult wild coon home and trying to tame it but they do take more work than the blonds.

The Guyana ones almost need no taming they practically settle right in. Pua was upset the first night home but after that I like to say she tamed me more than I was taming her.

HeHe tamed you. Laughing

That's why I say I'm owned by my animals not the other way around. Especially when it comes to exotics you end up changing to fit their lifestyle not the other way around. I'm saying that and I only have ferrets! imagine a tamandua. You make it look effortless although I know it isn't.
